Our Vision

"A city where active and rapid transit is the first choice—fast, frequent, and accessible to all. We envision a vibrant Charlotte powered by connectivity that fosters equity, reduces congestion, and opens the door to seamless multimodal transportation."

To reverse this trend, we must invest in faster, more frequent bus service and create dedicated lanes to ensure reliable, efficient transit for all.

Challenges

Bus Infrastructure

Leading Charlotte’s shift away from car dependency involves transforming the city's transit landscape to prioritize public transportation and sustainable mobility. This includes enhancing bus services, developing infrastructure, and ensuring safety for all users. Advocating for policies that support all lifestyles regardless of their access to a vehicle and making alternative transportation options more accessible and attractive are essential steps in creating a safer and more connected city.

Bike & Pedestrian Safety

Improving bike and pedestrian safety in Charlotte is essential for fostering a truly multimodal city. Key concerns include the lack of protected bike lanes, inadequate crosswalks, and limited lighting in high-traffic areas, which endanger vulnerable road users. Addressing these issues requires investments in infrastructure, such as building dedicated bike paths, widening sidewalks, and implementing traffic-calming measures. Advocacy for Vision Zero policies and equitable funding for non-car infrastructure will help create safer streets and encourage active transportation, benefiting all residents regardless of their mode of travel.

About Us

Our mission is to not only transform Charlotte’s active and rapid transit system into a safe, efficient, and viable option for everyone but make it possible as their first choice. Led by Barry Greene Jr., with his extensive experience from RVA Rapid Transit and Partnership for Smarter Growth, we are committed to innovating and improving bus services. We strive to make buses the preferred choice for commuting, fostering a more connected and equitable city.
